The Redmi K40 series has been teased by Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing on Weibo ahead of it's February 25 launch. the executives have shared an image with triple rear camera setting with two large sensors and one small sensor. In a separate post, he also confirmed that Redmi K40 series will be the first Xiaomi sub-brand smartphones to come up with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. This series is expected to include the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro smartphones. But because the post only mentions the Redmi K40 series, it is not clear which of the two models will get a triple rear camera and Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Weibing has started teasing details about the Redmi K40 series ahead it's launch on February 25. Executive sharing teaser images on China's Microblogging website Weibo reveals the rear triple camera setting. Image shows, two large sensors, smaller sensors, flash and what seems to be laser autofocus - all placed inside the camera module that looks similar to the one on Xiaomi Mi 11, only elongated. The Teaser image also shares that the launch event on February 25 will begin at 19:30 local time (5 PM IST).
In a separate post, Weibing shares that the Redmi K40 series will be the first Redmi series that comes with Snapdragon 888 SoC. Again, it is not clear which variant in this series will be powered by the latest Qualcomm SoC. However, a previous Tipster suggested that the Redmi K40 Pro will features a Snapdragon 888 SoC while Vanilla Redmi K40 will feature Snapdragon 870 SoC.
Redmi K40 Price (expected)
The price of Redmi K40 in China was tipped long ago, so we are not sure how accurate it is. The phone was said to come with the initial price of CNY 2,999 (around Rs 34,000). If true, it will make Redmi K40 cheaper than Xiaomi Mi 11. There is no word at the price of Redmi K40 Pro.
Specifications of Redmi K40 (expected)
Redmi K40 may launch with a Punch-Hole display, not a pop-up camera system. Smartphone can come with a FHD+ LCD screen, 120Hz refresh rate. Redmi K40 can be powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset. The other Redmi K40 specifications have so far covered 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, 5G connectivity, and 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging support.
